GERMAN SPECIAL FORCES ADOPT HK416A7

MONS learned via news sources that on 10 October, the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology of the German Armed Forces (BAAINBw) contracted Heckler & Koch to supply 1,745 HK 416 A7 weapons and accessories.

Speaking to MONS at Singapore Airshow, Invisio disclosed that its new Intercom System is now being tested by several specialised users in the world. Announced in September 2017 and housed in a box weighing 0.5kg (1.1lbs), the Intercom System can be easily housed in a soldier’s webbing or in their backpack. Moreover, the product can be used in a mounted or dismounted fashion and used onboard aircraft or maritime platforms. The company continued that a lot of its existing customers in conventional militaries and special forces show great interest in this new product.

Protonex Technology Corporation has received a $1.6 million purchase order for the supply of its PTX-brand Squad Power Manager (SPM-622) Special Operations Kits. The purchase order was the first issued by the Program Executive Office (PEO) – Soldier, as part of the newly approved program of record, with ‘Milestone C’ approval having been received in late September 2017.

GIGN ADOPTS MAWL-DA

B.E. Meyers & Co., Inc.'s MAWL-DA  (Modular Advanced Weapon Laser - Direct Action) was selected by the GIGN (French National Gendarmerie’s elite police tactical unit) as their official individual Near Infrared (NIR)/VIS weapon laser and illuminator. The GIGN is currently upgrading legacy systems and has begun to integrate new technologies with the unit’s available weapons platforms.
